Contracts Technician – REF: JW390EX/2024 at Johannesburg Water

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct research on standards and specifications relevant to the subject and update database records.
• Develop tender specifications in collaboration with the user department and assist in preparing the tender document.
• Regularly review current standards and specifications, liaise with suppliers and manufacturers, and provide reports.
• Conduct evaluations of tenders allocated in line with Johannesburg Water's policy and procedures.
• Audit resources and capabilities of tenderers based on their submissions.
• Follow up on references and perform necessary site inspections.
• Prepare recommendation reports for bid committees.
• Audit existing contracts to ensure compliance with contract terms and requirements.
• Report anomalies or non-compliance to the Contracts Engineer and service provider.
• Monitor the correction of identified anomalies or non-compliance.
• Conduct site visits for service-related contracts.
• Monitor progress and costs of framework contracts and report to the Contracts Engineer.
• Schedule and assist in chairing meetings between service providers and Johannesburg Water to review progress, issues, and safety concerns.
• Improve contract documentation and filing processes.
• Report monthly on contract expenditures.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• National Diploma Engineering
• 2 years’ experience in construction/contract management environment preferably in the water and sanitation field
• Valid driver’s license
