    Contractor Product Engineering (PEPD)

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    • FET Cost Planning: Must be able to accurately establish cost estimate for introduction of new FET, including cost of material, labour, overheads, trials and testing to input into product brief reply for budget approval.
    • FET Procurement: Establish basic equipment specification and compile detailed and clear scope of work for procurement of local and overseas manufactured equipment and tooling.
    • Provide input into design of FET in line with Toyota standards and approve the final design concept.
    • Cost planning: must be able to manage and control project budget to avoid wasteful expenditure.
    • Short- and long-term strategic planning- must be able to create, manage and control project schedule in line with TSAM organisational mission and company objectives.
    • Production preparation:  Conduct equipment digital and physical buy-off at supplier, installation at TSAM, implement process plan and plant layout.
    • FET Installation:  Have a close collaboration with all stakeholders, including plant and other affiliates to ensure safety and quality compliance.
    • Handover:  Prepare production preparation to ensure smooth handover to production.
    • Safety: Zero injury as result of project activities and zero tolerance to unsafe act at all times.
    •  Adhere to SHE standards and regulations.
    • Quality: Ensure quality compliance. (SDS, Hinpyou, cpk, weld integrity etc.)

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Relevant Degree/Diploma/ BTech: Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical.
    • Tool Jig and die making qualification and experience is key.
    • Knowledge and experience of CO2, plasma/Tig Welding would be advantageous.
    • Project management experience is essential.
    • Good knowledge of design and manufacturing of Jigs, tooling and fixtures is essential for this position.
    • Good knowledge of TPS would be advantageous.
    • High level of computer literacy. (Excel, Word, Auto CAD/Draftsight, Catia and Carott-3 simulation).
    • Knowledge of PLC, Fanuc NC codes programming, Automation and Robotics is advantageous.
    • Knowledge of ISO 9000 & 14001 requirements is essential.
    • Good understanding and knowledge of RCI’s, ECI’s, SMS Equiry & SMS-BR is advantageous.
