    Communications Assistant - Bryanston

    The primary purpose of the position is to:

    • Assist with a broad set of responsibilities, including helping with team travel logistics; the compilation and storage of information and other content; the management of calendars, inventories, databases and other central repositories;
    • Work with all members of the team to ensure efficient coordination and planning of group projects and campaigns;
    • Assist with a broad set of digital and multimedia responsibilities, including helping with website updates, social media engagement, the compilation and storage of photo and video content, and content generation where needed.

    Inherent Requirements    

    • Manage and curate online systems, including SharePoint with living documents (video files, brochures, factsheets, etc);
    • Manage and organize calendars, inventory of marketing materials and merchandise and other systems to ensure efficient planning and task management;
    • Handle vendors and ordering and shipping of merchandise;
    • Coordinate special projects, including the collection, compilation and distribution and shipping of relevant materials like factsheets, brochures, the Annual Reports or other needs;
    • Contribute to the production of written and visual content and engagement for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn);
    • Assist with basic updates to the company's  website and microsites and ensure content (text and photos) on all platforms is kept as current as possible;
    • Manage the Communications and Marketing Department’s database of multimedia assets, including photos, videos, b-roll, and raw footage and ensure the database is properly catalogued and easily accessible and searchable both on our online platform (Filecamp) and on our media server;
    • Creating purchase orders, processing of departmental invoices and record keeping with regards to the departmental budget
    • Create folders containing top photos and videos of each park and ensure they are correctly catalogued with necessary captions so they may be shared with partners, press and donors. Assist in creating bespoke multimedia asset folders for campaigns and unique requests in a timely manner;
    • Help where needed to research, compile, proof read and update content for the company ’ marketing materials and webpages, including park brochures, fact sheets, infographics, and more;
    • Work with third parties as requested from external production agencies, tourism groups, designers, donors and other partners;
    • Take meeting minutes; process invoices; and other general administrative tasks
    • Overall assistance for the CMO/Director and team with any marketing and communications needs.

    Qualifications 

    • Minimum 1- 2 years experience in marketing or communications or relevant conservation disciplines, preferably with experience in working with digital and multimedia;
    • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or Conservation; or Communications, Marketing, English or Journalism;
    • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team, manage projects, maintain attention to detail and meet deadlines;
    • Strong record-keeping and administration skills
    • Ability to learn quickly
    • Multi-tasking and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks
    • Proficiency with Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn and in Adobe Photoshop and Premier Pro;
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and software, especially Power Point and Excel
    • Candidate must be highly organised, creative, and with exceptional attention to detail
    • Ability to handle fast-paced, multi-tasking environment under minimal supervision
    • Goal-oriented, professional, self-motivated, highly flexible and adaptable to change
