    Communications and Marketing Manager - Fourways

    Overview    

    • To be successful in this role, you should have hands-on experience with web analytics tools and be able to turn creative ideas into effective advertising and communication projects.

    Qualifications    

    • Communications, marketing or agriculture degree
    • PRISA accredited

    Experience    

    • 8 years’ relevant experience in a related role
    • Knowledge and understanding of the agricultural sector and its value chains / players
    • Experience beyond RSA’s borders an advantage within the Agriculture sector

    Duties    

    • Develop a global strategy focused on the implementation, measuring and management of a Marketing and Communication function for Omnia’s Agriculture segment
    • Deploy successful marketing campaigns and own their implementation from ideation to execution
    • Experiment with a variety of organic and paid acquisition channels like content creation, content curation, pay per click campaigns, event management, publicity, social media, lead generation campaigns, copywriting, performance analysis
    • Produce valuable and engaging content for our website that attracts and converts our target groups
    • Build strategic relationships and partner with key industry players, agencies and vendors
    • Prepare and monitor the marketing budget on a quarterly and annual basis and allocate funds wisely
    • Oversee and approve marketing material, from website banners to hard copy brochures and case studies
    • Measure and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight and assess against goals
    • Ensure adherence to the brand strategy, guidelines and objectives as defined by Group
    • Formulate a content-marketing plan to position the brand as a thought leader in the sector in line with the Group strategy
    • Leverage knowledge of internal and external resources to generate relevant content that connects with a variety of stakeholders
    • Continuously strive to enhance and improve the communications processes
    • Oversee copywriting, editing and approvals of all external communication and articles
    • Influence internal communication and efforts in support of the organisational purpose, brand and culture

    Job Competencies   

    • Demonstrable experience in marketing together with the potential and attitude required to learn
    • Proven experience in identifying target audiences and in creatively devising and leading across channels marketing campaigns that engage, educate and motivate
    • Solid knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, NetInsight, Omniture, WebTrends)
    • Numerically literate, comfortable working with numbers, making sense of metrics and processing figures with spreadsheets
    • Up-to-date with the latest global trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement
    • Understaning of Afrikaans would be an advantage
    • Good English written skills

    General   
    Knowledge, Skills and Competencies required:

    • Good knowledge of the Agriculture sector is preferble
    • Good knowledge of B2B marketing
    • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
    • Attention to detail and high quality delivery
    • Customer-centric in support of the sales teams
    • Excellent writing and editing skills, ablity to adjust writing style according to audience
    • Strong competence and understanding of social media and websites
    • Strong collaborator internally and externally, supporting the One Omnia ethos

    Budgets and Reporting:

    • Budget planning, management and reporting, proving efficiency and maximum leverage
    • Continuously research and monitor the impact of marketing and communications activities using internal and external data resources to identify areas of improvement and effectiveness/success
    • Arrange required promotional items – end to end process
