    Communication Officer

    PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB 

    • To implement the NHC’s communication strategy, coordinating internal and external communication in line with the NHC’s vision, mission and brand identity. 

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS 

    • Needs Analysis 
    • Internal and External Communication 
    • Media relations 
    • Administration 
    • Continuous improvement 

    SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: 

    • Knowledge of relevant legislation policies 
    • Excellent verbal and writing skills 
    • Problem solving and decision-making skills 
    • Ability to represent the NHC brand in virtual communities and networks 
    • Computer skills 
    • Working knowledge and understanding of the communications environment, policies, knowledge and understanding of government communications 

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE 
    Minimum education required 

    • Degree in Communication (majoring in public relations, journalism or corporate communication), National Diploma in Journalism, Public Relations or relevant NQF Level 6 qualification. 

    Required experience 

    • At least 3 Years’ experience in public relations, media liaison, corporate communication or relevant environment
