Commercial Banking Graduate Programme – Commercial Property Finance (“CPF”) at Standard Bank Group

Standard Bank Commercial Banking is responsible for supporting the development and growth of businesses, servicing the large unlisted corporates.  These clients are nimble and entrepreneurial in nature, and we aim to support them in their activities.  This is done using a combination of our solutions and service models, that help businesses to succeed. “South Africa banks on business. We’re looking for driven, passionate, and agile individuals that are excited to be involved in the financing of commercial property.  Through a deep understanding of the businesses we serve and their aspirations, our Client Coverage teams often identify CPF opportunities.  Our Commercial Banking CPF team supports the Client Coverage teams, to ensure we create value for our clients and delivering on their strategic objectives.

This role is ultimately to help the Client Coverage teams support a client which is looking to finance a property either for own use or for investment purposes.  The candidate is to be based in Johannesburg and may require travel throughout South Africa.  Ultimately this should be a great introduction to a practical understanding the risks, collateral management, legal requirements and sales of commercial propoerty.

QUALIFICATIONS

Undergraduate (completed) and Post Graduate qualifications in:

• Business Science
• Accounting
• Finance
• Business Management

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Skills the candidate will be exposed to during the 18 month rotation are:

• CPF Sales,
• credit applications,
• yearly property reviews,
• valuations,
• property legal and
• loan operational process.
