    Clinical Trainer

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    Training and development of training material

    • Provide, where required training for Professional nurses, Doctors, and other categories of staff on PACK Western Cape Guidelines, Paediatrics, adolescent, and Psychosocial training, NIMART, TB and other training as planned.
    • Be familiar with the latest TB/HIV/Paeds and adolescent /PACK Western Cape guidelines to enable development of training material in line with latest guidelines.
    • Coordination of training
    • Plan, coordinate, facilitate and communicate all training activities for Anova Western Cape Apace programme. Compile annual training plan and book training venues in advance for all planned training.
    • Conduct audit of clinical training need annually for Anova Apace WC supported subdistricts and use findings to inform training plan.
    • Receive the nomination list at least 1 week in advance for all planned training.
    • Ensure all training equipment, relevant documents and logistics are prepared in advance (attendance registers, handouts, manuals, catering etc.)
    • Ensure all training equipment is maintained in good functional order and report any issues timeously to line manager.
    • Stakeholder engagement
    • Engaging with relevant stakeholders within and outside of Anova and establishing working relationships with them. (E.g., PDC (Provincial Development Centre), DoH trainers, Trainers from other organizations, HAST coordinators, etc.)
    • Attend training meetings as scheduled.
    • Endorsement of training packages

    Reporting

    • Submit monthly report of training conducted to line manager within agreed timelines.
    • Issue monthly notification of all upcoming training to Anova managers and relevant coordinators to ensure nominations are received timeously.
    • Compile annual training plan and submit to line manager within agreed timelines.
    • Keep a database as record of all training.

    Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required

    • Diploma or Degree in nursing with midwifery or equivalent
    • Certificates in WC NIMART, IMCI /Paediatric and adolescent training and PACK Western Cape
    • More than 1 year experience facilitating training related to HIV/TB
    • 4 years' experience working in HIV/TB and related programmes.
    • Computer Literate – MS Office Packages (MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel & PowerPoint)
