    Clinical Associate - Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision

    Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

    • Plan, coordinate, and execute Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC) procedures ensuring precision and adherence to protocols. 
    • Supervise and provide expert guidance to clinical and support staff, ensuring the delivery of safe and high-volume VMMC services. 
    • Swiftly respond to and report any adverse events related to client care, ensuring immediate action and thorough documentation. 
    • Provide leadership and establish objectives to enhance key performance areas of the VMMC program, ensuring continuous improvement. 
    • Assess and manage patients throughout the entire VMMC service package, ensuring comprehensive and compassionate care. 
    • Perform VMMC procedures on eligible clients following established protocols, ensuring precision and safety. 
    • Accurately document all procedures and clinical findings, maintaining meticulous records for future reference and analysis. 
    • Set an example of ethical behaviour and adherence to organisational values and culture.
    • Conduct post-VMMC patient follow-up, monitoring, and management in strict accordance with SA (South Africa) National Guidelines and Protocol, ensuring optimal recovery for clients. 
    • Ensure strict adherence to infection control policies and procedures, maintaining a sterile environment to prevent complications. 
    • Collaborate as part of a roving team to provide VMMC services in various settings, extending our reach and impact. 
    • Foster a positive work environment that encourages growth, collaboration, and teamwork within the compliance team. 

    Requirements:

    • Registered Clinical Associate (CA) with a degree from an accredited institution.
    • Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Clinical Associate. 
    • Certified VMMC Clinical training with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in VMMC. 
    • Strong familiarity and experience with VMMC for HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) prevention, demonstrating expertise and commitment to the cause. 
    • Preferred experience in quality assurance (QA)/quality improvement and supervision approaches, ensuring continuous enhancement of service quality. 
    • Previous experience in leading clinical teams, highlighting leadership abilities and effective team management skills. 
    • Experience in clinical training is an asset, reflecting a commitment to ongoing professional development. 
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ensuring clear and effective communication within the team and with clients.
