    Chief National Investigations Officer

    Main purpose:

    • To oversee all national investigations to ensure efficiency and quality of investigations into high profile maladministration and corruption within State institutions. To lead and direct the national caseload and maintain the viability of the SIU as a going concern. To provide line-of-sight leadership for staff members and lead stakeholder interactions and business development for national investigation operations

    Minimum qualification and experience: 

    • Honours Degree in Accounting, Legal, Forensic Investigation or relevant NQF 8. Registration with relevant Investigation bodies and Project Management qualification would be advantageous. Eight to ten years’ experience inf Forensic Investigations, of which five years’ is at senior management level. Extensive experience in public sector investigations.  

    Key performance areas (Include but not limited to): 

    • National Investigations Strategic Planning and Implementation. Business Development. National Investigations Oversight. Financial Management. Stakeholder Relations Management. Human Resource Management.

    Technical Skills:

    •  Leadership. Business development. Investigation. Communication. Interpersonal. Analytical. Presentation and facilitation. Report writing. Planning and organising. Financial management. Programme and project management. People management. Relationship management. Risk management.

    Required knowledge and Behavioural (include but not limited to): 

    • Sound knowledge of Forensic Investigative, Legal and Accounting practices. Understanding of public sector legislative practices. Knowledge of financial principles, PFMA and MFMA. Knowledge of project management principles. MS Office Suite proficiency. Team player. Attention to detail. Accuracy. Deadline driven. Collaborative. Customer focused. Work under pressure. Results oriented. Strategic thinker.
