    Business Development Manager (Gauteng)

    What will you do?

    Key responsibilities

    • Execute clear strategic objectives and a business plan for a specific region.
    • Work closely with the Head of the Business- and other Business Development Managers, in terms of developing client strategy and plans (i.e. sales and retention strategies).
    • Actively use and leverage capability of the sales ecology within the wider Group.
    • Understand client’s evolving needs in order to identify appropriate products and solutions in consultation.
    • Actively manage key client relationships.
    • Focus on growing new supporter base and maintaining existing client relationships.
    • Focus on new inflows.
    • Influence overall profitability of client region by meeting targets.
    • Position and package the business simply and effectively to the client region.
    • Act as the key interface between the client, as well as be a brand ambassador.
    • Prepare and deliver presentations where appropriate and assist with client feedback reports.

    Key Competencies

    • Good understanding of the financial (asset manager/LISP/DFM) landscape, different players and key needs.
    • Has a very strong collaborative mindset
    • Strong commercial and business management abilities
    • Good analytical skills
    • Strong people and relationship management skills
    • Excellent communication skills
    • The capacity and ability to clearly articulate and package the Glacier Invest value proposition to Independent Financial Advisors
    • Existing track record of success within the industry, especially among Independent Financial Advisors
    • Demonstrable in-depth understanding of Linked Investment Service Provider (LISP) industry as well as LISP product offering
    • Strong Financial Services sales and marketing experience 

    Minimum Experience Level and Essential Qualification 

    • 10 years + sales experience in the Asset Management industry 
    • Relevant bachelor’s degree Preferred Qualification 
    • Relevant postgraduate qualification (e.g. CFP) 
    • Existing network would be essential; specifically, among Independent Financial Advisors (IFA's)
    • Experience in offshore investing would be advantageous
