    Bursary Partnerships Officer

    Minimum Qaulification:

    • Relevant Humanities Undergraduate Degree; Qualification in Psychology or Human Resources will be advantageous

    Minimum Experience:

    • At least one to two years experience as a Bursary Partnerships Officer 

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Performance areas:

    Bursary capacity-building

    • Source relevant bursary opportunities according to agreed criteria.
    • Share bursary opportunities with students via various communication channels.
    • Support the running of training workshops and other agreed initiatives, including content creation, to empower students to apply for bursaries.

    Partnership development

    • Support development and maintenance of a prospect pipeline of high-impact bursary partner prospects in alignment with Vela’s goals and focus areas.
    • Source contact details of relevant prospects and contact companies to secure meetings.
    • Support efforts to build and maintain relationships with Vela’s partners.

    Bursary programme coordination

    • Engage with students, including to collect supporting documents.
    • Liaise with universities, textbook providers and other relevant suppliers to facilitate the process of payments.
    • Coordinate running of student workshops.
    • Support reporting processes, including for B-BBEE verification purposes.

    Recording of programme data

    • Proactively update the prospect and programme databases to ensure information is accurate and current at all times and relevant updates are captured.
    • Adhere to data protection and other relevant privacy legislation.
