Boilermaker (Lichtenburg) at Afrimat

Minimum Qualification/Experience:

• Grade 12 and/or relevant experience
• Red Seal Trade Test Certificate (Boilermaker)
• Valid unendorsed RSA driver’s license.
• Experience in Boilermaking with various disciplines is advantageous such as fitting and electrical.
• Must have good interpersonal skills
• Must have good leadership qualities
• Be able to work under pressure, independently and in a team.
• Must be plant maintenance and fabrication orientated with at least five years’ experience.
• Knowledge of Maintenance Management Methods.
• Experience in mining and/or heavy machinery and facilities involving complex production processes.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Planning and executing work in a workshop environment.
• Ensuring safe work practices and compliance with all SHE & MHS legislation.
• Report faulty equipment and unsafe conditions
• Read and interpret technical drawings.
• To ensure that Safety rules and procedures are adhered to, according to the rules and regulations of the workshop and mine.
• Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools as well as measuring instruments and reassemble equipment.
• Perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
• Assemble, install and/or repair, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
• Must be able to work in a workshop and plant environment.
• Must be available on standby
• The candidates must be medically fit in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act and the Company standards for medical fitness.
