    Assistant Galley Manager

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist the Galley Manager in managing and training a team of galley staff, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants
    • Monitor and maintain food quality and presentation, ensuring that all dishes meet our standards and guest expectations
    • Oversee inventory and ordering of food and supplies, maintaining accurate records and controlling costs
    • Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards, conducting regular inspections and training staff as needed
    • Collaborate with other departments, such as dining and housekeeping, to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction
    • Assist with menu planning and development, taking into consideration guest feedback, dietary restrictions, and seasonal availability of ingredients
    • Manage and troubleshoot any issues or challenges that may arise in the galley, communicating effectively with the Galley Manager and other department heads
    • Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and professional development for all galley staff

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role in a high-volume kitchen, preferably in a cruise ship or hotel setting
    • Culinary degree or equivalent experience in a professional kitchen
    • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Flexibility to work long hours and adapt to changing schedules and demands
    • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
    • Must be eligible to work on a cruise ship and travel internationally
