Assistant Fund Scheme Accountant (6month Fixed Term Contract) at Old Mutual South Africa

Job Description

In this role the incumbent will play a key role in the Financial Admin Team within Old Mutual Corporate Administration and Servicing Capability Cluster focusing on servicing and monitoring of daily banking transactions, payment of expenses and other processing activities of Umbrella Retirement Fund clients.

Banking functions

• Maintain and service bank accounts of retirement fund clients.
• Ensures client instructions are carried out accurately, with approval and per industry regulatory requirements when applicable.
• Servicing of Chorus cases per instructions received.
• Processing of invoices to vendors
• Receipting of Risk recoveries onto member records
• Processing of Refunds to clients
• Processing of deregistration schemes to obtain zero balance.
• Processing of two-pot transactions that impact the bank accounts.

Requirements: Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:

• 1- 2 years’ experience in a similar environment
• Grade 12 (with Accounting) and a finance degree/diploma or studying towards a finance degree/national diploma with accounting as a subject.
• Sound knowledge of accounting.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High degree of numerical ability.
• High degree of attention to detail orientation and accuracy.
• Team Player.
• Ability to manage own workflows/to be able to work independently.
• Good communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Must be able to meet tight deadlines under high level of pressure.
