    Area Manager – Eastern Region

    Overview    

    • To ensure effective and smooth operations within a specific geographical area. Coordinating activities, managing resources, and optimising processes to achieve organisational goals. Ultimately, the Area Manager is instrumental in ensuring that the company's operations run efficiently and contribute to the organisation’s overall success.

    Qualifications    

    • Grade 12
    • Diploma (Mining or Mechanical or Engineering)
    • Blasting Engineer related qualification
    • Certificate in business/project management

    Advantageous Requirements:

    • Mine Overseers Tickets
    • Advanced Blasting course
    • Bachelor`s degree in business management or operations management

    Experience    

    • 5 years of experience managing multiple portfolio operations/sites within mining/resource environments
    • 3 years demonstrated experience in business development in a mining/explosive environment
    • 3 years demonstrated experience in people management
    • 3 years demonstrated SHERQ management experience in mining/ explosive environments
    • Blasting-related experience

    Duties    

    • Operational Performance: Ensuring that all sites within the designated area meet or exceed performance targets related to productivity, sales, customer satisfaction, and other key performance indicators
    • Staff Management: Overseeing the recruitment, training, and development of staff members at site level, ensuring a skilled and motivated workforce
    • Process Optimization: Identifying opportunities to streamline processes, eliminate inefficiencies, and improve site effectiveness
    • Financial Results: Achieving financial goals, such as revenue targets, profitability, and expense management, to contribute to the overall financial success of the organisation
    • Customer Experience: Ensuring a consistent and positive customer experience across all branches through delivering high-quality products and services and excellent customer service
    • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensuring all sites adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards to mitigate risks and maintain compliance
    • Reporting and Analysis: Providing regular reports and analysis on key performance metrics, operational challenges, and opportunities for improvement to senior management
    • Strategic Planning: Contributing to the development and execution of strategic plans and initiatives to drive business growth and expansion in the designated area
    • Employee Engagement: Promoting a positive work culture and fostering employee engagement to boost team morale and productivity
    • Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicating with various stakeholders, including operations managers, regional leadership, corporate executives, customers, and suppliers

    • Strategic Thinking: Capacity to think strategically, contribute to long-term planning, and align operational objectives with organisational goals.
    • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing market conditions, industry trends, and organisational priorities to ensure agility in decision-making.
    • Compliance and Risk Management: Knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety standards to ensure compliance and mitigate potential risks.
