    Advisor: Higher Education

    Duties/Pligte        

    • Organising, managing, and facilitating projects and activities of the CTL (including administration and budgets);
    • Liaising and communicating with faculties regarding CTL projects and activities, as well as other TLA matters;
    • Providing advice and support to academics about TLA and curriculum renewal in support of student learning and success;
    • Monitoring and evaluating TLA projects;
    • Conceptualising, designing, and developing TLA resources and professional learning opportunities for academics;
    • Facilitating TLA professional learning opportunities for SU academics.

    Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes        

    •  A Master's degree;
    • Three years' relevant TLA experience being employed in a DHET accredited higher education institution as either lecturer or part of a Centre for Teaching and Learning, or equivalent;
    • Proven knowledge of the South African Higher Education sector;
    • Familiarity with the scholarship of teaching and learning in South Africa and internationally;
    • Highly developed organisational skills and the ability to work in a complex environment;
    • The ability to think analytically and innovatively and taking initiative;
    • Good communication and liaison skills;
    • Good presentation and facilitation skills;
    • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills;
    • Strong writing abilities, including minutes and reports;
    • Detail-focused with excellent time management skills;
    • Computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Moodle;
    • A valid driver's licence.     

    Recommendation/Aanbeveling        

    • Knowledge of English and another official South African language;
    • Knowledge and experience of web design and development;
    • Project management experience.
