    Administrative Officer: Traffic Law Enforcement

    Job Purpose

    The Department of the Transport and Public Works, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to coordinate, control and monitor budget, finance, Departmental assets, SCM and related matters for Chief Directorate and Directorate Traffic Law Enforcement and 13 traffic centres .This post is based in Cape Town, CBD. 

    Minimum Requirements

    • An appropriate 3-year tertiary qualification (National Diploma/B-Degree or higher)
    •  A minimum of 2 years Administrative, Financial or Supply Chain Management experience.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Coordinate, distribute and regulate asset inventory from head office to traffic centres
    •  Coordinate, monitor and control the activities relating to budgets and finance for the 13 traffic centres
    • Coordinate, monitor, verify and supervise claims and payments relating to service benefits
    • Coordinate and supervise certain activities relating to SCM, Limited Bid and Lease application forms for operating leases
    • Coordinate and supervise the activities relating to systems control
    •  Supervision of staff.

    Competencies

    • Knowledge of the following: Various procurement processes
    •  Administrative and Financial planning; Supply Chain Management
    • Skills in the following: Written and verbal communication
    •  Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Basic numeracy
    • Problem solving. Ability to: Work under pressure and meet deadlines
    •  Work independently as well as in a team.

    Remuneration

    R 331 188 per annum (Salary level 8)

    Note on remuneration: Employees' service benefits or obligations (13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
