Acting Senior Lecturer: (Ncv Fundamental) at Thekwini TVET College

Requirements:

• Matric certificate or equivalent
• A recognized REQV 13 qualification in Education and Development/Education Psychology/Pedagogics or equivalent
• Advanced Diploma in Technical Vocational Training or equivalent teaching qualification
• Valid SACE registration (not provisional registration)
• Minimum of three (3) years lecturing experience at a TVET college
• Sound NCV vocational subjects knowledge and work-related applications
• Qualification as Assessor and Moderator will be an added advantage
• Valid drivers’ license
• Computer literacy (incl. MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Outlook)
• Knowledge of examination and assessment policies
• Knowledge of the CAP and Coltech systems will be an added advantage
• Strategic, project, financial and time management skills
• Leadership and management skills, good communication skills and interpersonal skills, passion for learning and teaching as well as good report writing, good record keeping and administrative skills
• Ability to plan ahead and apply good time management
• Problem solving
• Organization skills to ensure teaching and learning is occurring
• Ability to make decisions on operational matters and implement them.

Key Result Areas:

• Supervise lecturers at the campus and manage their performance in terms of IQMS
• Engage in class teaching as per workload of the relevant post and campus needs
• Coordinate assessment and moderation in the campus
• Provide guidance and academic support to students and lecturers within the relevant programme
• Develop strategies to enhance student performance and good results
• Manage and monitor student attendance
• Conduct classroom visits
• Manage and supervise assessment and examination process in the section including timeous marking and moderation of question papers, preparation of ISAT, ICASS and PAT activities
• Facilitate subject allocation and timetabling for on-site and off-site teaching and learning, including participation of lecturers and students on the LMS
• Maintain a comprehensive and up to date record of staff
• Ensure PoA’s and PoE’s are done timeously and moderated accordingly
• Manage and facilitate student work based experience and lecturer workplace integrated learning
• Enhance administration efficiency within the campus and college
• Be a member of campus management team and examination committee
• Be a Member of the campus Health and Safety committee
• Assist with daily running and administration of the campus
• Perform other duties as delegated or prescribed by the applicable policies and/or legislation.
