    Accounts Receivable/ Payable Accountant (JHB)

    Primary Purpose and Overall Objective of the Job:

    Manage the accounting and finance end-to-end process within the subsidiary (and/or in relation with Accounting Third Party) in coordination with SSC P2P/R2R counterpart. Finance SPOC process scope is accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit and collection, treasury, fixed assets and general ledger. Finance SPOC is responsible for validation steps, complex issues resolution process, continuous improvement of the quality of financial data and; process, as well as coordination within the subsidiary (or Accounting Third Party) and with the SSC.

    Work as part of a team with SSC and local teams. Work with sense of urgency, of rigor and exactness required for accounting and financial needs. Communicate appropriately with SSC.

    Work under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer

    Qualifications:

    • Completed Matric
    • Accounting Degree
    • Accounts Receivable/ Accounts Payable Accountant

    Experience required

    • 1 – 3 years’ of working experience in a similar role
    • 3+ years Demonstrated experience in Accounting and Finance domains
    • Experience in account payables and account receivables, vendor management (procurement),
    • Experience working with PO’s and contracts
    • Demonstrated proficiency with an ERP (SAP will be an advantage)
    • Experience in collections – cold calling (Essential)
    • Good excel knowledge and other standard office software (MS Excell, Word, Powerpoint, etc.) – An excel test will be given as part of the recruitment process

    Skills

    • Written & spoken fluency in English
    • Demonstrated interpersonal skills (team work)
    • Management of customer-supplier relationship

    Scope and Resources Accountability, Typical Performance Indicators:

    • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): AR: Unreconciled Payments, Risk Cat,Credit Limit, AP: Urgent Payment Ontime Payment, PO Rate:
    • Key Contacts (internal/external) and Interfaces

    Main Accountabilities:

    • Interfaces” coordination: Ensure coordination with the SSC and within the Sub (or with Accounting Third Party) regarding operations. The Finance SPOC is responsible for coordinating communication & driving actions with the SSC and within the subsidiary to ensure lean processes for accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit and; collection, treasury, fixed assets and general ledger. The Finance SPOC is expected to provide information, recommendations & solutions to the SSC for problems and questions related to vendor invoice coding, vendor invoice validation coordination, collection processes and credit hold processes, monthly and quarterly closing processes. 
    • Expertise: Bring added value on complex situation / on issues resolution in term of Processes and Legal & Tax requirements. The Finance SPOC is expected to provide information, recommendations & solutions to the SSC for problems &, questions related to Legal & Tax requirements and Statutory Reporting. 
    • Operations execution: Provide inputs & guidance (ie: VAT rules, rates)/ Perform or delegate tasks / Give approvals for key steps on the financial process (payment validation, credit limit validation, Tax/VAT declaration validation, Books reconciliation validation & Group Reporting validation. The Finance SPOC is responsible for the finance master data quality and the quality / accuracy / punctuality of all inputs to process the accounting processes, enabling the SSC to perform its role as defined in the Service level Agreement and is responsible for actively participating in the operational weekly service review meetings with SSC in order to execute the SLA 
    • Continuous Improvement: Ensure to reduce exceptions & issues in coordination with SSC as part of the continuous process improvement based on clear and shared root cause analysis, action plan and rule based approach
