Job description

Duties / Responsibilities:

• Managing the Welkom Mining area based in the Welkom office (must be based in Welkom).
• Responsibility to deliver on Welkom area operating plan and business commitments with regards to sales growth, customer retention and profitability (monthly, quarterly and annual regional goals and objectives to be met).
• Grow revenues within the mining sector through managing strategic opportunity development, integrated account and valued proposition development.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with Operational and Corporate Executives within key Mining accounts (Corporate Account Management).
• Customer interaction and review visits to ensure customer satisfaction and brick walling of business.
• Understanding of Mining customer mindset, needs and expenditure in identification and development of new potential products (NPI’s) and customer solutions.
• Using domain expertise to turn customer needs into customized solutions that generate value, as well as driving differentiation in mining market segment.
• Assisting Mining Team in the identification, documentation and communication of mining customer value generation projects and case studies.
• Overseeing preparation and submission of customer proposals and tenders.
• Manage, develop and coach of all direct reports strategically based throughout the region.
• KPI management, coaching and performance management of employees.
• Compiling and management of annual regional budgets.
• Developing practical and innovative approaches to meet short and long term business goals.
• Report back progress against sales objectives to senior management and provide bi-monthly and monthly analysis of sales and action plans in the region.
• Ensuring area EHS compliance (Meeting area EHS Compliance Audit requirements)
• Responsible for building a BIGGER values culture within the region.
• Partnering cross-functionally within AECI to optimize our solutions offerings. Developing an understanding of purpose, role and interdependence with other internal ImproChem/AECI departments/businesses.

Qualifications / Experience Requirements:

• Matric.
• Tertiary qualification in Chemistry/Metallurgy or related recommended.
• Minimum 4 years mining industry experience working with major mining corporations. Strong Gold mining experience is a preference.
• Track record of people (sales) management.
• Track record of providing technical support in cooling, settling, as well as mining and mineral processing processes to teams.
• Good computer skills – Lotus Notes, Word, Excel, Power Point.
• Valid SA driver’s license.
• Financial management experience will be a strong advantage.
• Travelling is required to execute the responsibilities of this role (responsible region covers large parts of the Free State).
