    Marketing Manager

    Job description

    The purpose of this role is to develop the end to end customer marketing strategy for a segment and execute programs both to acquire new customers and ensure retention and value growth of our existing customer base. Reporting to the Director Field Marketing, they are directly responsible ensuring alignment and execution of marketing activities across the category and for delivering maximum ROI. This role is required to interlock with Partner Marketing to ensure alignment of all marketing activities, whether executed directly or through Partners.

    Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

    • Working with the key business stakeholders to build a single consolidated annual and quarterly Marketing Plan for the category, across segments.
    • Clear understanding of the categories sources of revenue and the impact of marketing programs to deliver against this.
    • Ensure absolute alignment with sales team, starting with sales leadership, both in the development of the marketing plan and the tracking and reporting on the execution thereof.
    • Drive execution against the plan and ensure measurement and tracking is in place to evaluate and optimise all activities. Report regularly on end to end marketing performance across the category
    •  Able to execute and optimise both global and local marketing campaigns and programs to influence acquisition, retention , cross sell, migration or upsell
    • Responsible for budget management, reporting and MRM input for the segment. Deliver relevant budgetary reporting as necessary and in line with regional guidelines.
    • Develop data-driven decision-making culture to effectively optimize inbound and online funnels
    • Work with our Marketing Operations team to determine data led audience segmentation as well as developing and delivering reporting that concisely provides results and analysis for global reporting formats
    • Experience integrating and repurposing globally created content into effective marketing activities and programmes in the local market
    • Extensive and proven knowledge of marketing automation and digital marketing including search, social and online nurture journeys
    • Strong demand generation marketing experience with the ability to nurture customer opportunity through to qualified leads
    • Actively Identify and explore possible opportunities for growth within the category
    • Working within the matrix organisation – form relationships across the team and the business and not relying on direct reporting relationships to get things done.
    • Work with local digital teams to define the category’s digital priorities and ensure all digital properties are optimised and contribute to the category objectives
    • Define the events strategy for the category and guide the execution of events, in accordance with Sage’s event’s strategy
    • Manage, implement and optimise always-on NCA and C4L campaigns end to end while supporting and aligning tactical campaigns within the category’s strategy and quarterly plans.
    • Closely align with partner marketing teams to ensure all programs can be executed both to and through partners.
    • Create interactive relationships with product marketing to influence world class propositions and grow understanding of market and customer insight
    • Represent marketing within the category and gain the respect and trust of the business leaders
    • Be a champion and guardian of Sage’s identity and brand, ensuring messaging positioning, tone of voice, visual identity is consistent and in-line with global brand guidelines across all channels and in all activities

    Must have:

    • Can work in a global/regional organisation structure, understands the importance of global consistency and local delivery, always has One Sage in mind.
    • Experience working in matrix organizations
    • Ability to inspire confidence and trust in interactions with other functions and Business Unit leaders.
    • Experienced in managing budgets and resources
    • Advanced communication and presentation skills
    • Ability to develop strategic plans and implement
    • Strong analytical skills and data driven mentality
    • Be able to think beyond area of control/domain to do what is right for the broader Sage organization
