Job description

A Sage X3 support department specialist consultant’s main responsibility is to provide development support to Sage X3 Solution Providers on any issues relating to Sage X3 products both functional and technical. To provide support on OEM vertical products and any third-party products that Sage SA distribute in Africa.

• Initiate, support and advise on Sage X3 developments and customisations
• Provides support to the functional consultants
• Participate in product Beta testing and provide feedback
• Provide development and technical support and consultation to Business Partners
• Provide technical information on Sage X3 and Add-ons.
• Draw up technical & infrastructure specifications for Sage X3 installations
• Assisting Business Partners over the phone to resolve Sage X3 or Sage Add-ons development software issues..
• Analyse and troubleshoot Sage X3 issues raised by Business Partners and resolve development problems, documenting ticket actions and resolutions.
• Conducting development training courses on Sage X3
• Applying, testing and maintaining Sage X3 patch levels
• Building and maintaining of Sage X3 images
• Testing of new software for bugs
• Product demonstrations at workshops and conferences
• Conduct development audits of Sage X3 installations before Go-Live
• Classify, escalate and coordinate problem resolution
• Continuously update technical knowledge and learn new products and feature sets
• Document delivered solutions and update the knowledge database
• Provide mentorship to junior consultants
• Other duties as assigned
• On-site Support
• Obtain as much information as possible about the client’s problem before going on-site.
• Investigate the client’s development issues identifying if it is technical or functional issue.
• Obtain the client’s data, if possible and try to replicate the error on the client’s data.
• Try to replicate problem on sample data on the client environment
• Audit the hardware and Operating System for compliancy.
• Go on-site with a partners Certified Consultant.
• If you are unable to fix problem, escalate to relevant support department
• Take a copy of the data if necessary and follow up until the problem is resolved.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Two full Sage X3 implementations including support experience
• Strong communicator
• Sage X3 Development 2 years Good knowledge of the Sage SAFE X3 development tool/4GL and Java; knowledge of .NET environments such as C# a positive
• Sage X3 System Administration
• Business and process Analysis
• Java developments
• Microsoft Server 2012 and higher
• Browser technology
• Microsoft SQL - writing stored procedures, views, and triggers.
• Mongo DB
• Programming in a 4GL language
• Presentations (Pre-sales and Training) and Seminars
• Prepare the subject fully. Dress appropriately (according to department policy).
• Present at dealer meetings and briefings when required.
• Present at Sage Summit on specialised technical topics and vertical products
• Present at Sage Days conferences around the African Continent
• Present Development Training on Sage X3
