Department: Merchandise (Fashion Office)

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To develop print and pattern designs for the PEP product range.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Developing original prints to compliment the seasonal trend forecast
• Developing prints and CAD’s as per buying team design briefs
• Design portfolio will include all product areas stocked by PEP with the main focus on apparel
• Editing of existing designs
• Designing and updating packaging material and labels
• Regular store visits
• Assisting buyers with general queries
• General admin

JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12
• Diploma in Textile, Surface, Graphic or Fashion Design / Bachelor degree in Art
• 2 – 3 Years design experience, preferably in a retail environment
• Computer skills required: Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and MS Office
• Good understanding/experience in retail buying cycles, textile/print production and trend forecasting
• Good eye for colour and colour combinations
• Detail and service orientation with a focus on building and maintaining relationships with buying team
• Good planning/organising and ability to cope with stress and deadlines
