Job description

Mission/ Core purpose of the Job:

To map out the MTN Information System architecture framework into a roadmap for technological migration in line with global technology trends.

To safeguard the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information and minimising the impact on information security.

• Enterprise Security Architecture
• Provides input on development of the Cyber security architecture strategy.
• Ensures the confidentiality, integrity and availability of company information.

• The security architect needs to ensure the formulation, design and alignment of the enterprise security architecture to meet the strategic needs of MTN. Ensures the confidentiality, integrity & availability of company information.
• Provides inputs on the formulation, design and alignment of the enterprise security architecture to meet the strategic needs of MTN.
• Responsible for large scaled security architecture implementations such as database monitoring, data loss prevention etc.
• Responsible for various IAM components and processes within MTN including on premise infrastructures, private/public cloud initiatives and 3rd party service providers
• Security Solutions Architecture
• Provides security consulting services on Business and CTIO projects
• Interprets the enterprise security architecture and applies to projects
• Assists projects in developing risk profiles, assessment of security requirements, security design, implementation and security testing
• Track Security trends and innovations and assess their applicability for the MTN SA
• Liase with strategic vendors to develop shared long-term roadmaps
• Consult with experts to get knowledge of industry best practices and trends.
• Market security architectural services to all stakeholders.

• Budget assistance and tracking
• Assistance with Yearly CAPEX Plans and tracking spend through the year
• Assistance with contract negotiations and driving to conclusion
• Project Delivery
• Develop and drive the execution of agreed projects
• Drive the implementation, tracking, monitoring and compliance of Projects
• Contract management in line with Procurement Policies
• Determine, document, and review requirements for projects within the scope of the value stream or impacting processes and system
• Business Analysis
• Perform Business Analysis MTN SA Business Analysis in line with the methodology and guidelines
• Determine, document, and review requirements for projects within the scope of the value stream or impacting processes and systems
• Design, analyse and document workflow and make appropriate recommendations that will positively impact operational effectiveness
• Identify Business Improvement and Optimisation opportunities that will result in improvement of process performance
• Identify and implement innovative ways to use minimum resources to achieve maximum outputs

Minimum Requirements

• 3 year degree / national diploma in IT
• CISSP, CISM or equivalent Information Security qualification or relevant proven working experience
• TOGAF and SABSA EA
• Fluent in English

Experience

• 5 yrs experience in IT environment and with a minimum of 3 – 5 years in Information Security Architecture.
• Experience with security management, information security risk assessments, information security engineering, network security management, application design and architecture, network engineering.
• Presenting to stake holders or other decision makers to present and sell ideas to various audiences (technical and non-technical)
• Experience mentoring and coaching others
