    Digital Content Designer

    Job description

    Job Purpose:

    Manage the design and writing component of content, meeting the objectives of the content strategy and vision are met. To ensure systems and content is designed ensuring ease of use and to ensure that client and employee touch points creating a positive experience. Enabling processes and systems that are both educational, empowering, useful and useable. Facilitate design discussions; persuade stakeholders, and present results and solutions.

    Key Outputs:

    • Create content as the single source of truth incorporating business standards, mappings, change and quality governance amongst other elements.
    • Be responsible for daily planning, coordinating and executing communication strategies.
    • Be the central point for all content and communication management.
    • Formulate and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Ensure content design and correspondence is in line with the content strategy.
    • Manage the end to end process of creating and maintaining content for clients across all channels.
    • Enable business rules are consistently applied across all platforms.
    • Continuously improve and optimize.
    • Remain informed on industry standards and best practices in order to apply learnings
    • Follow a structured process to gather, understand and document client /employee requirements and interpret the user experience requirements that are implied.
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product managers and business analysts to workshop ideas, develop concepts and define project goals.
    • Work in a team that elicits and documents functional requirements and prioritization from business stakeholders through workshops and relevant documentation.
    • Identify key performance indicators to aid in the definition of a usability approach which supports user requirements, business objectives and best practices.
    • Assess Business requirements in terms of usefulness and align business and user requirements
    • Apply UX and Service Design methodologies to conduct research, to understand the context of user behaviour and preferences to inform user interface solutions.
    • Design the solution and produce font-end design outputs, enhancing with the application of graphics and illustrations.
    • Develop scenarios, navigation models and prototypes for demonstration of concepts.
    • Create Hi Fidelity prototypes.
    • Review and approve the output of the design and technical teams to ensure that the planned user experience is achieved during implementation.
    • Ensure that design conforms to the Design Standards in terms of User Experience and Digital Design.
    • Develop guidelines and standards and to ensure that these and lessons learned are recorded and shared amongst existing and new team members.
    • Assess methodologies and determine which are appropriate for the project being worked on and sell approach to the project team.
    • Create guidelines on design and site standards, and consult on best practice.

    Competencies:

    • Processes Knowledge SDLC, Usability Evaluations, Project Management.
    • Technology Knowledge UI Methodologies, design tools and standards, UML, HTML / CSS.
    • Other Knowledge Human factors / ergonomics, Human Computer Interaction (HCI).
    • Technical Skills Business Writing Skills, Presentation and Facilitation Skills, Data analysis and reporting, Graphic Design.
    • Behavioural Skills Client Service Orientation, Result Orientation, Negotiation skills, Persuasion & Influencing, Time Management, Professional Communication (written, verbal/presenting and listening), Creativeness, Innovation, Stress Management.

    Requirements:

    • Qualifications Essential Digital Design qualification (e.g. Multimedia Design).
    • Qualifications Enhanced Degree or 2 year diploma in Multimedia, IIBA certification (CBAP), User experience certificate, Graphic or web design, UML/Storyboarding, BPMN, CXA Certification.
    • Qualifications Beneficial BCom, BSC or BA degree specializing in any of the following: Informatics, Industrial and organizational psychology, Fine arts, Ergonomics, Industrial design, User experience, Information sciences/technology
    • Minimum Experience 1 to 3 years working experience including Graphic Design and Business Analysis.
    • Additional requirements Usability Analysis, graphics, SQL and Coding, Web Platforms.
