    Manager: Property

    Job description

    The G Band Manager: Property role is based within the Technology Business Unit.

    The role of the Manager: Property is to be responsible for managing the acquisition of property on behalf of Vodacom for network rollouts in a timely manner and lower cost and favourable escalation terms whilst adhering to all regulatory and Vodacom’s site acquisition policy. Implementing and managing programs for strategic acquisition that will give Vodacom access to a wider portfolio of property for use in rollout from single large scale property owners. Managing the property lease renewal program and to ensure all lease renewals are done at least 2 years before expiry. Manage and arrange approvals for the fibre to site project and the microwave self- provisioning programme from existing landlords and share partners.

    Key Accountabilities And Decision Ownership

    • To acquire property for purposes of network expansion and rollout
    • To manage rentals and develop initiatives to aggressively reduce cost.
    • To develop a strategic acquisition channelthat will give Vodacom SGA access to a wider asset portfolio for rollout
    • To ensure the administration of all agreements with property owners on which premises network infrastructure are erected.
    • To develop and implement initiatives that will further reduce OPEX
    • To implement solutions that will reduce CAPEX per site whilst maintaining or even improving quality
    • To manage staff
    • Construction management

    The Ideal Candidate For This Role Will Have

    • Matric / Grade 12 & a relevant Degree or Diploma such as: BSC -QS; Building Science; Civil
    • Engineering; Project management or Town Planning essential
    • A Formal course in Management (e.g. MDP/MDC) desirable
    • 5 - 8 Years relevant functional experience inclusive of the below:
    • 2 to 3 years knowledge & experience of contractual legal requirements essential
    • 2 to 3 years Environmental knowledge & experience essential
    • 2 to 3 years Town planning knowledge & experience essential

    The base location for this role is Century City, Cape Town.
