Sports Content Controller - DStv Digital Media

SuperSport.com - as a component of DStv Digital Media - requires the services of a sports Content Controller with strong organizational skills, work ethic and sporting knowledge to work on a permanent basis. The incumbent will report to the Managing Editor, and be based at our offices in Randburg.

Note that this position requires shift work, including weekends, due to the nature of sport.

Outputs

• Constant monitoring of news wires and mail box, and the uploading of stories in order to maintain the high-quality standards of DStv Digital Media and SuperSport.
• Ensuring that the configuration of each of the sites that makes up SuperSport.com's sports bouquet accurately reflects sport’s current climate both locally and internationally
• Ensuring that news stories and information used by SuperSport.com are accurately reflected on the website, SuperSport Interactive on DStv and our mobile platforms
• Checking of live scoring across all platforms
• Dealing with a number of partners and their online offerings

• Passion and knowledge of sport in general

Knowledge and Qualifications

• Matric
• Journalism qualifications is a distinct advantage
• Work experience (Sport on internet) is also a distinct advantage
• Computer literacy
• Knowledge of internet and mobile platforms
• Basic HTML skills an advantage
