Role Purpose & Scope

To be effective the Senior Integration Architect must have experience on multiple Hardware and Software Environments and be comfortable with complex heterogeneous systems environments. The Senior Integration Architect must be able to simplify designs and able to steer the client on the chosen solution. The Senior Integration Architect is often a highly seasoned senior who has led multiple projects through the Software development process or Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and has usually performed in a variety of different roles in that life cycle. The person needs an ability to share and communicate ideas clearly, both orally and in writing, to executive staff, business sponsors, customers, other vendors and technical resources in clear concise language that is the parlance of each group.

The Senior Integration Architect is responsible for the development of the overall vision that underpins the projected architecture and transforms that vision through execution into the solution. The Senior Integration Architect becomes involved with a project at the time of inception and in developing the initial integration requirements. They then remain involved throughout the balance of the project. They are an expert in many categories. They can master a variety of hardware platforms including distributed platforms, desktops, and mobile devices. A broad and deep understanding of Databases is also required. They work very closely with developers to ensure proper implementation. They are the link between the needs of the organization and the developers.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provides overall technical leadership for end-to-end BSS/OSS integration solutions, including integration with partner/third party components
• Prime technical lead for the integration related aspects of the solution architecture, defining components for design and development and identifying skills/resources required to develop in this area
• Ensures compliance to principles of quality assurance
• Follows and promotes the agreed best practices in the integration space
• Acts as trusted advisor to the customer
• Proactively prevents and resolves technical issues to avoid escalation
• Provides leadership within the technical teams through the design, build, test, and the E2E delivery process
• Reviews and approves estimates for technical tasks as developed by mentored architects and/or the development teams
• Supports the Agile teams to keep deliverables on target and on time
• Assists with technical customer interactions from kick off through to SIT & UAT
• Mentor and guide more junior architects, business consultants and technical resources

Desired Skills & Experience

• Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering (Telecommunications) or Business (with major in Computing)
• Minimum 6 years' software development and application implementation experience
• Expertise in identifying and translating business / system requirements into software design documentation
• Highly developed skills in providing end to end solution and design details
• Senior design experience in database applications
• Experience in implementing technologically complex projects
• Good interpersonal skills in terms of both oral and written communication and presentation with prospects and the customer
• Ability to identify and highlight technical risks as well as resolve any production incidents timeously
• Highly developed analytical problem-solving skills to identify and diagnose complex problems that require complex methods or theories
• Highly developed communication skills to influence and gain cooperation amongst team members, the client and/or 3rd party vendors
• Should have extensive knowledge of JMS Queues (uniform distributed) and Bridges (including both Queues and Topics)
• Should have extensive monitoring / control knowledge of the Weblogic Administration Console (including data sources, queues, servelets, mdbs, etc.)
• Should have basic Weblogic Administration Configuration Skills (including Data Source, Connection Factory, Sub Deployment, Queue, Cluster, etc.)
• Should have extensive experience with analysing Weblogic logs
• Some experience with working with Agile teams
• Telecommunications industry experience and related product knowledge would be an advantage
