Job description

To lead the development and deployment of Asset Management and Energy Management Systems that provides reliable and cost efficient production, and to assist and support the Operational SVPs and GMs develop and manage their maintenance, power and project strategies.

Role Accountabilities:

• Technical accountabilities
• Ensuring the health and safety of all personnel associated with Asset Management & Reliability.
• Leading the development, deployment and implementation of the Asset Management and Energy Management Systems.
• Ensuring the provision of effective support and assistance in developing maintenance, reliability, energy and project strategies and plans.
• Ensuring the AMR team assists operations implement effective asset management and energy systems, tools and plans consistent with AGA’s strategic and business plans.
• Providing effective assistance and support to AGA operations and projects that drives Operational Excellence; improves maintenance and energy reliability and costs to global standards; and delivers projects on time and budget.
• Ensuring a constructive and creative environment for business improvement within the AMR team.
• Contributing productively as a member of the COOi management team
• Scheduling accountabilities
• Contributing to the development and delivery of the International Operations plans and ensuring the AMR team develops, manages and reports against effective plans and schedules that derive from and support the AGA strategic and business plans.

• Leading and developing an effective and increasingly capable AMR team

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Essential

• Behaviour consistent with AngloGold Ashanti’s Values
• A degree in a relevant engineering-related discipline
• At least 10 years relevant, successful management experience in the mining or heavy industry
• Demonstrated strategic and analytic thinking
• Sound understanding of the mining value chain and impacts of Asset and Energy Management
• Ability to take a ten-year whole-of-business perspective in managing multiple competing strategic priorities
• Demonstrated capacity to interpret data and successfully action sound short-term tactical decisions
• Commercial acumen relevant to the role
• Demonstrated capability in organising work, setting priorities and exercising sound judgement
• Strong ability to lead and work effectively with people
• Personal credibility with strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills
• Demonstrated capability and willingness to explore and embrace different cultures
• High energy and level of enthusiasm for the work with high performance goals for self and team
• Prepared to take a well-reasoned stand on matters of importance
• Prepared to undertake extensive business travel

• A post-graduate degree qualification in an engineering-related discipline
• A relevant business qualification (e.g. MBA)

Salary will be in accordance with the AngloGold Ashanti Schedule of Salaries.
