JOB PURPOSE

• Constantly look for productivity opportunities and be able to implement them through transversal project management
• create strategic vision, develop and implement sourcing strategies engaging all key stakeholders both internal and external
• Ensure that robust and timely negotiation is carried out to influence the business performance
• Manage the commercial relationships with all the packaging suppliers.
• Create an innovative platform to feed the company innovation process.

KEY AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Planning And Strategy
• Create strategic vision, develop and implement buying/sourcing strategies
• Develop strategic partnership, where appropriate, with suppliers
• Manage and monitor adherence to best practice and performance
• Understand and define areas for improvement
• Build excellent relationships with suppliers to improve supplier performance and develop new products -Continuously question requirements both internally and externally to gain a full understanding of needs
• Identify and deliver opportunities in terms of cost optimization, quality and service
• Continually review the overall ”value” offered by existing suppliers and ensure that the Company’s purchasing remains competitive
• Liaising frequently with various departments within the business, working closely with Supply Chain Planning and Procurement Operations Team
• Report monthly on supplier performance based on agreed KPIs with corrective action where appropriate
• Sourcing
• Negotiation and re-negotiations of terms of business/service agreements and performance evaluation with suppliers taking corrective action as required
• Ensure that timely negotiation is carried out to influence the business performance through supplier negotiation and identifying new sourcing opportunities
• Analysis of RFQ’s, quotations and negotiating of prices and terms
• Ensure that suitable suppliers are based on predetermined criteria
• Negotiating pricing structures with both new and existing suppliers
• Driving transparency and holding the supplier accountable for their performance
• Sourcing new, and maintaining current supplier relations to ensure on time delivery and target margins are achieved
• Researching and sourcing new providers to meet the business needs
• Constantly look for innovative materials to feed the company Innovation process and make sure that we are always among the first to know and evaluate the new materials
• Develop an animate a productivity project plan for its categories, to be delivered during the Budget year. And develop as well as a productivity project pipeline for the next 2 to 3 years.
• Carry out procurement supplier review meetings on a quarterly basis or more frequently in the event of issues or non conformance
• Develop detailed knowledge of existing and potential supply base by category and build supplier capability analysis summaries to facilitate benchmarking process
• Analyze its markets and recommend the pricing trend for the next year
• Introducing new suppliers and ensuring compliance with all authorisation checks and SLAs
• Liaising with the global procurement team and leveraging of each other’s strengths
• Finance and Budget
• Negotiation of prices for new and repeat items
• Carry out category reviews annually to improve the overall cost to the business
• Build Budget / Estimate assumptions for its categories

Academic And Trade Qualifications

• Relevant Bachelor’s Degree, Postgraduate degree preferred
• FMCG Purchasing experience (min 5 years)

• Proficient in MS Office Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
• Commercial acumen, and proven ability to maintain tight budget controls
• Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects
• Advanced communication skills (written, oral and listening)
