    Business Unit Head - SURGICAL Products

    Job description

    Experience in Medical Devices with Sales and Marketing Management is essential.

    Reporting to the Country Manager, the Business Unit Head – Surgical Products will be responsible for the major brands of a Multinational organization. This will be based on an approved strategic plan and include P&L growth and an approved budget.

    This role includes a team of Sales and Marketing direct reports with staff reporting into them, representing these specialised surgical products.

    Key Result Areas

    • Work closely with Country Head and Direct Reports to develop strategy and deliver growth for the Surgical Unit.
    • Collaborate and co-ordinate with Area Corporate Leadership, Market Leadership and Research and Development
    • Mentor and develop a collaborative environment to manage the workforce as required while fostering talent and implementing appropriate initiatives to improve functionality of Sales and Marketing Teams
    • Focus on customer base, driving an entrepreneurial spirit and ownership to achieve commitment to achieving results
    • Cross functional teamwork and collaboration with other local Executives
    • Key Account Management and active participation in meetings and at appropriate conferences
    • Compliance to Company and Healthcare Codes

    Desired Skills and Experience

    • Minimum Entry Criteria
    • University Degree in Medical/Pharmacy, Life Sciences or Business Management
    • Proven track record of leadership success in Sales and Marketing in an organization of significant size
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Medical Devices with at least three years’ experience in a senior Management role
    • A South African citizen

    Experience

    Marketing Management, Sales Management, Key Accounts Management, Cost Control and Finance: budgets, forecasting, Team and P&L Leadership in a multifunctional role, experience in a Matrix and Global environment, Market Research
