From March to August this year, a team of dynamic health economists and clinical researchers will conduct field work in public clinics in ten low income communities in Cape Town to investigate how tuberculosis patients make decisions and how nudges could help promote better decisions. We want to recruit a talented, bright, highly motivated and committed research project manager to help steer this high-impact and intellectually challenging research.
This is an important opportunity for a promising scholar with a strong academic background and an interest in behavioural economics. The selected candidate will be working alongside top international health economics researchers on a large project funded by the World Bank, Gates Foundation and Stellenbosch University.
The salary will be competitive and market related ranging between R20 000 to R24 000 (pre-tax) per month (depending on the qualifications of the candidate). This is a 6-month contract but with the possibility of extending the contract to include further work on other health policy projects for the team.
The team is looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and pragmatic problem solver who can plan and run an intensive six-month research project, anticipate and solve daily problems and manage and motivate a diverse team of people. The research project manager will spend at least one day per week visiting clinics where the field work is conducting.
