    Receptionist

    Job Description

    Job Purpose

    The Frontline Operator will provide efficient frontline services by greeting and directing callers and visitors appropriately; notifying company personnel of visitor/s arrival and maintain security, including basic administrative duties.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Reception and Switchboard Duties
    • Provide first line telephonic assistance to the public and portray a professional image of MGI.
    • Deal with telephonic queries from members of the public which may include sponsors, current students, prospective students and parents.
    • Direct callers to the correct person or department and keeping records of calls and messages.
    • Most of the time is spent sitting at a desk or workstation.
    • Assistance with typing and data capturing.
    • Perform any other administrative duties as assigned by line management. Risk and Security
    • Ensure that security and risk mitigation guidelines are enforced e.g. access control. Other Support Functions
    • Secure meeting rooms upon request or relay the request to the Facilities Lead. Assist with courier administration when needed.

    Core Competencies

    • Ability to demonstrate a practical knowledge of basic administrative duties.
    • Act in a proactive and solutions focused manner to solve challenges.
    • Ability to demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to demonstrate a good understanding of all frontline duties and the use of the associated technology.
    • Ability to act in an assertive manner, security and safety conscious.

    Experience, Knowledge And Skills

    • 3 to 5 Years relevant experience in a similar position.
    • Experience as switchboard operator and/or receptionist at a higher education institution will be an advantage.
    • Computer literate (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook etc)

    Qualifications

    • Senior Certificate or Equivalent
    • A higher education qualification will be an advantage.
