    Luxury Sales Specialist, Southern Region-Parow

    Job description

    Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position in the Southern Region, based at Parow in Western Cape. The successful incumbent will report to the Regional Trade Marketing Manager.

    Purpose Of The Position

    The purpose of the position aims to unlock growth in value contribution of Luxury Wines and Spirits to our total business.

    Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

    • Achieve Sales targets through Volume, Value and GI, and maintain positive growth momentum across category with focus on the Luxury portfolio
    • Design and implement a sustainable Joined Business Plan (JBP) with strong focus on the Luxury portfolio.
    • Customer insights analysis (Customer performance report and implications).
    • Execute the sales process and complete the 4A execution standards.
    • Accessibility:
      • Identify and negotiate SOVI (Share of Visible Inventory/ Facings), across category with focus on the Luxury portfolio.
      • Identify and execute unique high value merchandise across touch points with focus on the Luxury portfolio.
    • Availability:
      • Identify and negotiate listings across all segments with focus on the Luxury portfolio.
    • Activation:
      • Identify, negotiate and execute an activation calendar (customer & consumer faced) in line with national category plan to create brand awareness through brand building (Wine tastings, Gourmet Evenings, High Profile Events, Outlet Hot spots/ Branding & Theatrical and experiential consumer facing activations etc.).
    • Affordability:
      • Advise on price adherence as per price index (relative pricing) guidelines per strategic focus brand by outlet type.
    • Design and implement an endorsement strategy (Intensive sommelier, barman, waiter, customer, advisor training, and route-to-market opportunities).
    • Negotiate contracts and deals.
    • Negotiate commercially sound business plans aligned with high value added services during the sales call.
    • Achieve minimum call frequency at customers.
    • Develop and maintain relationship with key customers and consumers.
    • Demonstrate brand, category and industry knowledge with a strong focus on the Luxury portfolio.
    • Determine consumer needs through understanding and upkeep of key consumer pathways.
    • Identify opportunities to network with high net worth individuals.
    • Identify and implement gifting opportunities for high net worth individuals based on achievement.
    • Demonstrate cross-functional synergy.


    The successful candidate must have the following qualification, skills and experience:

    • A formal tertiary qualification in Sales and/or Marketing (3 year degree /diploma).
    • Level 2 CWA Certificate would be advantageous.
    • 2 – 3 years sales experience.
    • A valid driver’s license - Code 08 without endorsements with at least 2 years driving experience.
    • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Power Point).
    • Sound presentation, negotiation and time management skills.
    • Understand and execute the sales processes.
    • Strong commercial acumen.
    • Good knowledge of industry - Wine, Spirits and RTD’s.
    • Strong on Con environment knowledge , relationships , activations including Night trade
    • Flexible and able to operate in a diverse market.
    • Strong customer relationship building.
    • Be a self-starter/self-motivator and take accountability for actions.
    • Must be able to identify opportunities for improvement and change.
    • Ability to work irregular hours
    • Ability to travel when required.
    • Display high level of energy and passion for the job.
