Job description
To act as a galvanizing force for the wider team in terms of sharing Lean and Agile knowledge across GIT. The overall goal is for the role holder to establish a Lean and Agile centre of gravity around the teams.
The Lean-Agile coach must have the ability to both see and reveal systematic gaps in the organisation’s delivery capability. An important differentiator between a Scrum Master and Lean-Agile coach relates to the range and levels of both Lean and Agile fundamentals. Typically one progresses from an Agile Team Facilitator/Scrum Master (terms used interchangeably) to Lean-Agile coach. Effective Lean-Agile coaching requires mastery at each step before progression.
Agile Team Facilitator (Scrum Master): has the basic skills of facilitation, mentoring and conscious communication, typically within the confines of one or two agile teams.
Lean-Agile Coach: has achieved an expert level in not only Agile practices, but Lean principles in general (including Systems thinking, Value stream management, Continuous improvement events, Cause & effect analysis/ problem solving, Waste analysis/ elimination and Customer centricity), over one or more knowledge domains (technical/ business). Some professional coaching skills and a significant level of skill in facilitation and mentoring is key.
