Job Summary Statement
Aveng Manufacturing, a leading infrastructure development group, provides a diverse range of services, products and solutions in engineering, construction, mining, steel and manufacturing through its five business units namely Infraset, Duraset, DFC, Rail, and ACS.
The incumbent will be responsible to manage and lead the activities of the Maintenance department and staff.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):
- Direct and Lead the activities of the Maintenance and Tool Room department
- Ensure that the maintenance and Tool Room staff is adequately trained, equipped and motivated to achieve maintenance objectives
- Ensure effective participation by the maintenance and Tool Room staff in the implementation of SHEQ policies and procedures
- Drive continuous improvements in the factory with the input of BI and production departments
- Develop and implement best practices with emphasis on planning, scheduling and preventative maintenance of the mechanical, electrical and tool making elements of the plant
- Communicate directly with the production and planning department to coordinate preventative maintenance and work repairs in the production areas
- Conduct Employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competencies and knowledge of maintenance staff
- Ensure a machine and tooling uptime of 98%
- Plan and Control the maintenance and Tool room budget
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Grade 12 (Matric)
Qualified Artisan
Diploma in Management or Production Management
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 10 year management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in the metal process environment Industrial Relations experience
- Production management experience
- Must have strong mechanical, electrical and tooling experience
- Must be able to use 3 D modeling package solid works
- Experience in production line improvements (continues improvement)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Enthusiastically Productive
- Management experience with the ability to motivate and Lead a team of workers
- Must have working Knowledge of Microsoft office
- Must be able to work a 3d drawing software package
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, blue prints and sketches
