    Corporate Social Investment Specialist

    Position Overview:

    • We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Corporate Social Initiatives (CSI) Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our CSI strategy, fostering compliance, and championing positive community and employee engagement. This role will be instrumental in our commitment to corporate social responsibility and sustainability.

    CSI Stewardship:

    • Implement our CSI strategy, ensuring it aligns seamlessly with our organizational goals and values and resonates with our core business objectives.
    • Adopt meaningful partnerships and collaborate across the strategy and sustainability departments to co-create and implement impactful CSI initiatives.
    • Engage with cross-functional teams and collaborate with the CSI committee to develop and implement employee selected initiatives.

    Emergency Relief Coordination:

    • Lead and coordinate our disaster management relief fund efforts, working collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders.

    Compliance Stewardship:

    • Serve as the guardian of our commitment to regulatory compliance within the realm of corporate social responsibility.
    • Maintain meticulous records and documentation for compliance reporting, underpinning our commitment to ethical business practices.

    Sustainability Impact Measurement:

    • Establish and maintain robust systems for assessing the real-world impact of our CSI initiatives.
    • Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of programs, offering insightful recommendations for enhancements.

    Employee Engagement:

    • Organize and coordinate various employee engagement events, including townhall logistics, Month of Caring, and social committee activities e.g. sporting codes.
    • Craft and execute impactful events on significant days, such as Women's Day, Heritage Day, Mandela Day, and wellness-focused initiatives like Wellness Month/Days and Boost My Fitness.
    • Support the business units in coordinating meet and greet activities and department launches to drive awareness of internal projects and initiatives. E.g. LegalDesk or Safety First.

    Events and Engagement:

    • Working with Brand custodian manage the selection, procurement, and distribution of corporate gifts, collateral, and promotional items.
    • Spearhead the logistical facets of external events, from Hauler Conferences to RAF (Refinery Association Forum) gatherings and SAPIA (South African Petroleum Industry Association) functions.
    • Working with the Manager: Communications, activate our brand at corporate sponsored events to bring our brand to life.

    Work Experience:

    • Minimum 4 years’ experience in an entry to mid-level internal communications role.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Social Sciences, Sustainability).
    • Proven experience in corporate social responsibility or related roles.
    • Strong understanding of BBBEE scorecard requirements and compliance.
    • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
    • Event planning and project coordination experience.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
    • Familiarity with corporate social responsibility frameworks and best practices.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Understanding of Corporate Identity and Brand Guidelines application
    • Knowledge of community development principles is a plus.
    • Familiarity with disaster relief coordination is an advantage.
